Speicherstadt (warehouse district)
The Speicherstadt (warehouse district) in Hamburg, Germany is the largest warehouse district in the world where the buildings stand on timber-pile foundations. It is located in the port of Hamburg within the HafenCity quarter and was built from 1883 to 1927. The district was built as a free zone to transfer goods without paying customs. As the first site in Hamburg, it has been awarded the status of UNESCO World Heritage Site on 5 July 2015.
Wow what a fantastic shot so sharp. Such an interesting place and you have taken it at the best spot I think and time as well with the bus heading over the bridge. Lovely Reinhold 🙂
I was there during day time only. Difficult because of the massive shades of the buildings. The week after next we stay in Hamburg for a week. Housekeeping for a friend. Hopefully good weather and early morning fog and sunsets. Will be fun. Greetings. Reinhold
Looking forward to those. Have a great weekend 🙂
