Big stopper? Need to look into that. Have the ND filters on my list so I can start experimenting with long exposure in daylight. Can’t wait. Great image! I love the smoothness of it, especially on the water there almost a soft feel to it.
Hey Sheila. Big Stopper (10 stop ND filter), Little Stopper (6 stop ND filter )… use them together you have a Super Stopper (16 stops) which you can buy now a a single filter. You can create water / cloud effects in bright sunlight with these. Lot of fun. Which filter sizes do your lenses have? I have 2 Hama Vario (2-1o stops) ND filters (52 /62) to give away for free. They are used but in very good conditions. I would not buy them again, but they are a good starting point. I can’t use them anymore with my new LEE filter holder. If you are interested and they match, let me know. Reinhold
Hi, Reinhold. I am going to buy at least a 16 stop ND filter for the bright sunlight and maybe a 10 stop one for when the sun is low late in the day, at least that is what I have been told it would be a good time to use it. I have Sony lenses 49/55 filter sizes. Thanks for the offer, though, and the info on the Stoppers since I haven’t started my ND brand research yet, I will begin there. 🙂
You are welcome. 🙂
I sure do .. I wish I had all the bits and the finesse! Damn 😊
May be I should offer workshops via Internet, Julie. There is not so much to explain (technically). It is more about where to go next and when. And getting up early or staying late. Smiles. Reinhold
Yes, I like it! 😉
🙂
I love that you have explained your method even though you might be speaking french. Lol. I was just by a fountain like this and was wondering how to capture it in all its glory. Next time I go by it I will take more time to make it happen. Thanks for the share
Thanks for your nice comment. My language is German (and some English :-)). Glad I created some sort of inspiration for your next try. Greetings from the North of Germany. Reinhold
Love the creativity and thought that wend into your image.
Thanks, Charlie. Appreciate your comment. Very motivating to follow my current track! Reinhold
Lovely long exposure.
Thanks! I was looking for a moving water to test the new filter system. Now, that is not easy. We have lakes and obviously the North Sea but no small rivers or streams. When I saw the fountain I thought this would be a good “first test candidate”. Glad you like it. Reinhold
Oh and in my excitement I neglected to say nice image Reinhold. 🙂
Thanks so much, Laura!
You’re welcome!
I am almost there with my filter setup! I got the Lee system , 72mm wide angle adapter for my Sony, .9 soft grad, and the filter holder and big stopper filter is on its way. I can’t wait to try this all next week!
Exciting! Bring time and your tripod! Happy ZEN shooting. 🙂
haha…I will finally be using my tripod! Shocker I know. 😉
There will be no other way… buy a carbon fibre one. Expensive but very light. Together with your mirrorless system they are the perfect choice. Reinhold
Got a MeFoto Carbon Fiber Globetrotter just a month ago!
… perfect! 🙂
