Alien in Berlin

For the last years I lived in a remote location in North Germany close to the coast. I have a beautiful lake, moors, woodlands and lots of animals in my neighbourhood.
And… not many people or tourists. It is usually very quiet and peaceful.
And now… Berlin.
Packed with people and tourists, noisy and traffic… 24h a day.
Thousands of restaurants and shops, memorials, architecture and many green areas where you can stop and rest for a few minutes, before you jump into action again. It is overwhelming, fascinating and exhausting.
I feel like an alien in Berlin. A landscape photographer trying to
create images in street photography and urban landscapes.
First thing I did, I left my tripod in my room. Second thing, I used my Fuji X100 for most of my images.
It is perfect for street photography. I plan long exposures and urban landscapes with my tripod. But this is next on my project list. In the moment I try to adopt to the new location. I wander through the streets of Berlin, mouth open, and try to capture my first impressions.
Stay tuned to read more about the advantages of an alien in Berlin. In the moment it still is the place in the world where I want to be. 1st week is over. Let’s see what’s in the basket for the next weeks.
The gallery shows a selection of my images so far.

  1. You have to discover the hidden corners of Berlin, there is also to be found a lot of quietude, weird untouristic locations and nature here. Meet the beaver at Görlitzer Park or kingfisher (Eisvogel) at Teltowkanal, all is possible in this town, never gets boring here. Good luck!

  2. What can I say? These images my friend are simply stunning! You are so clever … What an eye you have. The alien in Berlin is having fun I would say! Thank you so much for sharing …😃
