We had a fantastic summer in 2018. Sunshine, heat, no rain. For days, weeks and months. Everybody was happy, enjoying the weather. Everybody… except the moor. In the first image you can see one of my favorite spots in the Dänikhorster Moor. A canal running through the heart of the moor. In the next image, an image from two days ago, the same canal. It is shot from the opposite direction. And it has been raining for a few days already.

The lakes also lost substantial amounts of water. The third image shows one of our lakes. The fourth image shows you the same lake only tow days ago.

I hope that the late autumn rain and the rain of the winter and spring season will refill the water level back to the normal point.
The weather forecast for the next days: cloudy with sunshine… no rain.
Not really happy days,
Reinhold
I too hope that the autumn and winter rains do the job ..
Julie, apologies for the late response. Yes it is raining for the last 2 days. The forecast for the next 10 days. No rain. Good for me. Bad for the lake and the moor. But I think Mother Nature will fix this over the next weeks. Otherwise I go there each day with a few bottles of water and refill the moor by myself. 🙂 Greeting from the old man at the sea. Happy days. Reinhold
I’m not happy about climate change effects here too. 😥
It is getting a bit better. Rain for the last 2 days. Greetings from the North. Reinhold
Not good, sadly
Yes indeed. We had rain for the last 2 days. Not enough but at least a step into the right direction. Greetings from the North. Reinhold
I hope you get some more rain, Reinhold
moving photographs of something we’re losing forever
Thank you, Tony. Happy days. Reinhold
