What is your aim?

RSP - Reinhold Staden Photography

A few hot days. > 30° C / 90° F. No rain.
The rain started last night. At 2 am. It rained the whole night.
When I got out this morning to shoot this image I was wet within minutes. Not because it was still raining. No… the rain had stopped. But humidity was extremely high.
I had to convince myself that it was okay to get wet feet and wet clothes. Next time I see Michelangelo I will have a word with him.

Happy days. Reinhold

Jetty

My favorite jetty at our lake. Not always accessible. It is the end piece of jetty with sailing boats. Access is restricted to “Opening Hours”. They open later and close earlier than sunrise and sunset. This time they owner stayed a bit longer… fishing. Lucky me! I asked him if I could enter the jetty to capture a few images. After a friendly approval I shot 3 long exposures. This one is for a duration of 30 seconds at f6.4 using a LEE big stopper. (the others where 20 and 10 seconds)

It is also the only one which includes the rope as a foreground interest. What a difference to those without the rope. Happy days. Reinhold

“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”
– Pablo Picasso

“You don’t take a photograph, you make it”
– Ansel Adams

Wouldn’t it be awesome if one could paint an image like this?
I captured the underlying image in Amsterdam and stumbled upon it today while I was cleaning up my files. Always nice to go back to these older images and to play around with them.

Happy days.

Perfect Cloud

Perfect Cloud

I left Berlin for the weekend and drove back home. We had beautiful weather. Sunshine and very mild temperatures at our lake. I sat on the terrace and watched the clouds passing by. While I was watching I asked myself how would a perfect cloud look like? I sat there for quite a while and captured this small, cool looking, perfect cloud. Now I am back in Berlin… and I can still see it passing by.

Happy and sunny days!

Jimi Hendrix

Tempodrom: founded by Irene Moessinger, it opened in 1980 next to the Berlin Wall on the west side of Potsdamer Platz, housed in a large circus tent. After several changes of location it is now housed in a permanent building in the Kreuzberg neighborhood.

Urban Mountains

Urban Mountains

That’s been one of my mantras – focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains.
