Run with fox and deer

The autumn season is near. The moors are changing their green for a colourful dress. The lakes are waiting for awesome sunsets with fog and mist. I think Boomer will look with eyes wide open when I wake him up in the middle of the night. He is old enough (18 months) to follow me to my photography spots. Now we have to wait for the season to start. All images are archived images of my tours from last year. Hopefully we can beat them as a the new team. Happy days. Reinhold & Boomer

Wait for me… I am on my way

Sounds of silence

Lakeside

Change of season. Summer is leaving and autumn is just round the corner. Many tourists and their dogs left the lake and it is much quieter than a few days ago. Hopefully it stays like this for a while. I am looking forward to an awesome autumn season with lots of fog and vivid colours. Happy days. Reinhold

An unexpected problem…

Landscape photography

Landscape photography and dog walking. Do they go together well? I think no… or yes if you know the traps. Over the years I created a habit which a landscape photographer should always optimize. I scan everything in front, I often turn around to see things from a different angle. I look to the left and to the right. I step forward and back to finalize my composition. Boomer was always watching me doing this. I didn’t recognize that he was developing the same habit. He started to think that I was scanning the surrounding to detect enemies early. He started to become aware and alerted of other people walking or jogging by, bicycles, cars… and other dogs. I created myself a problem. With the help of a fantastic dog trainer, I slowly return to normal. I use a marker word and clicker and focus at him while we walk. I think we will be fine very soon. If you are a landscape photographer and you plan to get a dog… watch out. Don’t fall into the same trap. Boomer is definitely worth any effort to get him back to normal. We joined an obedience rally team which helps a lot to train him to accept my habits as a landscape photographer. Now we are communicating at the same level with the same meanings. Autumn is coming and we have to prepare ourselves for various photography trips. Stay safe and healthy. Happy days. Reinhold and Boomer.

Magic moments …#7

Hansel and Gretel
Hansel and Gretel got lost in the forest,
It was so dark and so bitterly cold.
They came to a fine little gingerbread house.
Who could be the lord of this little house?
Yoo-hoo! Here comes an old witch!
She lures the children into the gingerbread house.
She appears quite friendly, but oh Hansel, what trouble!
She wants to bake them as brown as bread in the oven.
But when the witch looks into the oven,
She was pushed by Hansel and little Gretel.
The witch must bake, the children return home.
Now, the tale of Hansel and Gretel is over.
