A few days ago me and Boomer were scouting a forest 45 minutes by car from home. I want to create some woodland images in the next weeks. To save some reminders for the track I used my iPhone. It is a nice feature that you can display the image location(s) in a map view. So next time it will be easy to find the spots again. I have to wait for a promising weather forecast. And off we go! Happy days. Reinhold
I never finally created my own, my personal photography style. My lenses were always wide open. There were various attempts. May be some of you remember my „bronze“ period. Or my awful HDR images. I tried everything from street, architecture to portrait and landscape photography. And don’t forget macro and dog photography. And I will continue to do so. At least in this blog. So welcome on board, fasten your seat belt and wait for Boomer (my dog) to come around serving drinks. A few days ago I deleted all of my social media accounts. I retired this year and now I retired from social media. But there is one genre that always had a bigger place in my heart. Black and white. Also a few days ago I created a new blog. moorkind.wordpress.com. This blog has some unique posting characteristics. Just the headline. One black and white or monochrome image, design or video. No comments. Wordless posts. My world in black and white. May be some very old images, older images and definitely new ones. But always my personal work. No guarantees to post daily. May be 2-3 posts a week. I have already posted some initial posts. Hope to see some of you over there. I am aware that a black and white blog may not be appropriate in dark times like these. But black and white images have to show stories and soul. And this is is my final challenge I would like to face in my remaining years on this planet. My world in black and white. moorkind.wordpress.com
Thanks for reading and happy days. Reinhold
PS: Moorkind – means child of the moors. It is the brand I use for all of my design and now for my black and white photography and video work.
All other content will stay with Reinhold Staden Photography.
The predator slowly moved forward. He listened to the sounds of the wetlands and smelled possible prey nearby. He had to be careful. There was this old guardian of the moors. He would be able to tame him with spells like „sit“ and „down“. But may be chicken and cheese would still be his reward. So he moved on.

After our morning walk in the rain, Boomer and I sat down on the sofa with a hot cup of tea and executed our daily morning exercise to create 16 logos in 1 hour using a brand name. Hedy Bach – Bach Creative commented my last post with her brand name yesterday. The 16 logos wouldn’t be final design choices. They would be used for a professional briefing session to include/exclude choices with my client. First step in a 4 step workflow. But that is not the point. I rather do my morning exercise with a real brand name rather than a fictional. So, thank you Hedy for joining. And hopefully there are some inspirations for your further branding. And check out here website and blog. Cool stuff. Happy days. Reinhold and Boomer.
PS: leave a comment with your brand name and the first two will be victims of me and Boomer who is actually sleeping at my side while I am working. A bit unfair. 😁
A few days ago I started an “early morning exercise”. After the morning walk with Boomer and breakfast, we both relax and I use my iPad and Affinity Designer to create 16 logo designs of a fictional brand. In this case (today) it is my brand name for my design work. Nothing spectacular, just exercise and adding to my skills. If you like such an “exercise” for your brand, just leave you brand name and business type in the comments. The first 3 requests will be part of my exercise this week. It is totally free and you can use all designs for your own purposes. Happy days. Reinhold and Boomer 🐶

All images captured in the Fintlandsmoor / North Germany with my iPhone and the Lenka App. Happy days. Reinhold
After a few miserable weeks with lots of rain, Boomer and I went out for a longer walk in the moor. We both enjoyed the light and shadows of the late afternoon. Happy days. Reinhold
Today I captured a few shots of Boomer with my Fuji X system. He really is a “flying dog”.
Happy days. Reinhold
A country dog having fun in Hamburg! Happy days.
After the storm.
Returned safely from Hamburg to the lake. 2 days to relax. The next storm front is expected on Sunday. Will be not as heavy as the last one but still another 2-3 days of horrible weather. I start to hate rain, wind and cold and wet clothes and shoes. Let’s hope for better weather. Happy days. Reinhold and Boomer.
There are also mornings like these. Boomer had an early start. It was still dark, raining and the wind was chasing clouds in the sky. But we managed to avoid most of the rain during our walk. As usual we are now sitting on our couch and Boomer is already in the land of dreams while I drink a hot cup of tea. A Sunday morning… Happy days. Reinhold and Boomer.
