This images opens section 3 of my christmas calendar. The theme is “Winter Photography”. Hope you will enjoy the last 8 images of this year. Happy days. Reinhold
I left home 1 hour before sunrise. It was still raining and most of the snow turned into wet, heavy snow. I wasn’t sure if I could make an image out of this. But I decided to go on and drove 5 minutes to my planned location. My journey ended in front of a fallen tree. No access by car. I had to walk for 1 mile through the moor to the moor lakes. It is a challenge in dry conditions. But I know this area and it was a save walk. I was hoping to get at least one decent image.
At the moor lake the weather actually decided to get worse. I spent another hour and tried to get my image of the day. In the end I took 4 images, packed my stuff and left to get a decent breakfast and a nice, hot cup of tea. On my short way home I decided that everyday out in nature is a good day. Happy days. Fuji X-T1 images:
It is 7:00 in the morning. I am planning to visit the Fintlandsmoor. Trying to get some snowy images of the wetlands and moor lakes. There is some snow left. But I think it is more rain than snow. It will be a cold and wet experience. I will see it in a few minutes. And you will see it later this afternoon.
Winter has arrived. First snow in the Dänikhorster Moor. It is usually a very quiet place. The snow has further reduced the sounds of animals and birds. I only heard the barking of a fox in the distance. Hopefully the snow will stay until tomorrow morning. I am planning to visit the Fintlandsmoor and the moor lakes to capture some snowy wetlands early in the morning. Fingers crossed! Happy days. Reinhold
Dreaming… I saw me walking through the moor, the wetlands of the North… moving on into a world without fear, hate, politics, war, anger… I must be dreaming. Afraid to wake up. My dream will be continued tomorrow. See you there!
… this image of a brave little tree has been taken in the moor (Fintlandsmoor) only a few miles away from where I live. I must return to the moor in the next days, when the weather is changing from horrible to acceptable. As you know, I don’t mind cold, snow, storm… but I hate gray and wet weather conditions. From April 1 until the end of June I can’t go there. It is a nature resort with restricted access during this period. Lots of ground breeding birds. So I desperately wait for different weather. 4 weeks left. Fingers crossed. 🙂
Get yourself a hot cup of tea. Today I would like to invite you for a virtual walk into the Nutteler Bäke in snowy AND misty conditions. Recorded with my iPhone and images shot with my Fuji X-T1. The awesome music is by Kevin MacLeod. Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 License
And now relax and follow me into the area where fog meets snow.
