Falling Dry – Sail Boats in the Wadden Sea

The photo was taken in the coast resort Dangast in the World Heritage Wadden Sea at the coast line of North Germany. To get to this location I had to walk into the wadden sea. There was no other way to get to this place. Fortunately I was wearing wellies. I used my Fuji X-T1 / 18-55mm lens, a tripod and my Lee Seven 5 filter system. The tripod was sinking into the wet sand. I used 3 CD’s (one under each tripod leg) to stabilize it. I did this for the first time and it worked out quite well. I shot 2 images. One with focus on the foreground, the other with focus on the background. I used Photoshop to align and blend the 2 images. The B&W conversion was done in LR using Silver Efex Pro.

Distinctive landscape: Moor

A few days ago I had a late afternoon walk in the Fintlandsmoor, a conservation area near the place I live. It lies within the Hunte-Leda Moor at the outskirts of the Ammerland Geest. It is a natural habitat of endangered ground-nesting birds. Location: Google Maps

All photos at his location are taken with my Fuji X-T1 and the 18-55mm lens. I used a tripod and my new Lee Seven 5 filter system. Post was done with Lightroom only.

My new Fuji X-T1 page

Today I started my Fuji X-T1 page – as part of my blog.

I like to develop/expand this page in the next days, weeks and months with technical information, my experience with the X-T1, best practices and links to other sources of information.

If you are already a X-T1 user or you are interested in this “black beauty” you can bookmark this page. If you have questions about the X-T1 or how to use it, leave a comment on the new page. I will try to answer all your questions.
